Martha sat at her desk, staring at the shiny new laptop her daughter had gifted her for her birthday. It was sleek, modern, and intimidating. At 72, Martha wasn’t comfortable with technology. She longed to write her memoir, but the thought of typing on a computer, saving files, and navigating word processing software seemed overwhelming.

One afternoon, her neighbour, John, dropped by for a chat. He noticed the laptop sitting idle on her desk. “Martha, have you started writing your memoir yet?”

Martha sighed. I would like to, John, but I’m hopeless with computers. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.”

John smiled. “You’re not alone. Lots of people feel that way. Have you heard about the memoir-writing workshop at the senior center? They specialize in helping people with the technical side of things.”

Martha was skeptical but intrigued. “Do you think they could help someone like me?”
