Although I'm not a Buddhist, I have spent a lot of my life around those who are, including my ex-wife who was a psychotherapist grounded in Buddhist philosophy and worked in a Buddhist centre. I am currently an End-of-Life Planning Facilitator who spends time contemplating my own impermanence daily and helps others prepare for their own. I often ask people, "If you died yesterday, how would you want to have lived?" or "How would you want others to remember you?" Thank you for sharing the idea of an "unimaginable surprise". I will enjoy following your posts.
