My second pricing tip for end-of-life service providers involves research and analysis. Competitor research and analysis is a crucial step for solopreneurs in end-of-life services to inform their pricing strategy, differentiate their services, and confidently establish their value. Here are some tasks to help you conduct effective research and analysis:

Research Tasks:

  1. Identify 5–10 competitors in your niche (e.g., hospice care, grief counseling, end-of-life coaching, funeral planning).
  2. Visit the competitors’ websites, social media, and review sites (e.g., Google, Yelp).
  3. Analyze their:
  • Services offered
  • Pricing models (e.g., package deals, hourly rates)
  • Target audience (e.g., individuals, families, healthcare professionals)
  • Marketing strategies (e.g., content marketing, networking)
  • Unique selling points (USPs)
